Jewellery & Silverware Repairs

All our estimates on repairs or insurance claims are free of charge.

Our workshop has had many years of experience in carrying out a variety of repairs from soldering, ring sizing and re-tipping claws to stone replacements and full restoration work. They specialise in all types of antique, vintage and new jewellery.

We also offer a re-threading service for pearl necklaces and bracelets, and have a very skilled Silversmith who can deal with anything from polishing out scratches and removing salt marks to restoring antique silverware and re-plating canteens.

Watch Repairs

Our skilled watchmaker is able to carry out various repairs from a glass replacement to a full service.

We also offer an in-house battery replacement and watch strap service, although we do not have the re-sealing facilities to guarantee any watch to be water resistant on watch battery replacements.

Engraving/Seal Engraving

We have many years of experience in supplying and engraving signet rings with family crests and mottos.

Crests can also be engraved onto cufflinks, tankards, napkin rings, salvers and wine coasters to name but a few.

We can also arrange engraving on most items of gold, silver and pewter. Here are some examples of styles above.

Please email or telephone us if you would like to know how long the engraving will take or how much it will cost as it does vary depending on what the item is etc.

Valuations

All our valuations for Insurance and Probate are carried out on the premises by Mr Andrew J Glaysher who has 30 years of valuing experience.

We will ask you to leave all your items with us for usually under 2 weeks. They will be kept securely in our safe.

Valuations for Insurance cost £45 for the first item. Each additional item over £1000 is £10 per item. Additional Items between £300-£1000 are £5 per item. Diamonds over 1.00ct and any complex jewellery are £20 per item. Lastly silverware is £5 per item.

Valuations for Probate have a minimum charge of £45 or 2% of the total valuation.

Buying Gold/Sell Your Jewellery

We are happy to value your unwanted jewellery and are keen to purchase in particular antique and secondhand jewellery, watches, clocks and silverware, all for a competitive scrap price or re-sale purpose.

You may need to leave your items with us for a few days, however your items will be securely stored away in our safe.
