An Elliott walnut cased mantel clock with an 8 day movement. The clock has a champagne dial with roman numeral chapter ring and angel corner decoration. The clock was made for Thornton, Kettering.
Elliott were the last English made clock company. They were located in London and laterly Hastings. The clock movements and cases were all made in the UK (they did use French escapements). Apart from making clocks they also used to service and maintain Big Ben!
